There are various recreational activities that one can enjoy in Rocky Hill. On any weekend it is a great idea to visit the Mark Twain house which has been well preserved and contains various artifacts of the writer. Many tourists and residents also prefer to take a cruise on the Connecticut River and watch shows at the Bushnell Hall or the Hartford Stage.

You can travel on the Nation’s oldest ferry service which still runs in Connecticut on a seasonal basis. This is a good option to cross the Connecticut River rather than taking the highway. However, the best recreational activity that one can enjoy at Rocky Hill is by visiting the Dinosaur State Park. It has dinosaur footprints dating back to 200 million years.

There are various parks and sporting activities at Rocky Hill. In 2003 Rocky Hill was voted the #1 SportsTown in Connecticut. Some of the parks in Rocky Hill are the Elm Ridge Pak which is spread over an area of 26.5 acres. There are various amenities in the park such as ice skating, pavilion, playscape, volleyball, tennis and other activities. A great place to spend a Saturday with your family!

Another park which you can always visit is the Maxwell Park. This park is spread over 34 acres and has amenities such as deck hockey, picnicking area, softball, tennis and other activities. Other parks are Sunnycrest Park, Fenny Park and Quarry Park. With so much to do on your weekends, you will never run short of recreational avenues if you are staying at Rocky Hill, Connecticut.
